Gaza ( The COW News Digital) In a rare public appearance, Abu Ubaida, the spokesperson for Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, declared that Palestinian resistance fighters are fully prepared for a prolonged war with Israel. His remarks came in a video statement released on Arab media, marking his first official address since March.

Abu Ubaida said it has been four months since Israel resumed its aggression in Gaza after breaking ceasefire agreements, and in that time, hundreds of Israeli soldiers have been killed or injured by resistance forces. He added that thousands more are reportedly suffering from psychological trauma due to the ongoing conflict.

He emphasized that Al-Qassam fighters are learning from what he described as the “longest confrontation in Palestinian history,” and are now employing new tactics and strategies to surprise and damage the enemy. “Our leadership is focused on inflicting losses, launching special operations, and capturing enemy soldiers,” Abu Ubaida said.

Warning Israel of the consequences of continued military action, he said, “If the Zionist regime insists on prolonging the war in Gaza, they must be prepared to carry the coffins of their soldiers and officers.”

The spokesperson also criticized the Muslim world, stating that while Gazans are being martyred and deprived of basic necessities like water and medicine, Muslim and Arab nations remain silent. “Their silence makes them complicit in the bloodshed of tens of thousands of innocent Palestinians,” he said, directly addressing leaders and dignitaries across the Muslim world.

Abu Ubaida reaffirmed the resistance’s full support for the Hamas delegation involved in indirect negotiations with Israel. He revealed that in recent months, resistance groups had proposed a comprehensive agreement that included the release of all Israeli captives, but the offer was rejected by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

“We hope the current talks lead to a deal that guarantees an end to the war, withdrawal of Israeli forces, and humanitarian relief for the people of Gaza,” he said. However, he warned that if Israel backs out of the negotiations, the resistance will not entertain partial ceasefires or limited prisoner swaps.

The statement signals Hamas’s firm stance as diplomatic efforts continue behind closed doors, and underscores the group’s readiness for an extended conflict.
