Gaza: Hamas has officially announced the martyrdom of Mohammed Deif, the commander of its military wing, the Al-Qassam Brigades.
In a video statement, Al-Qassam Brigades spokesperson Abu Ubaida confirmed that Mohammed Deif was martyred in an attack on the Al-Mawasi camp. The strike also claimed the lives of his deputy, Marwan Issa, along with senior commanders Ghazi Abu Tamaa, Raed Thabet, Rafi Salama, Ahmed Al-Ghandour, and Ayman Nofal.
Mohammed Deif, born in 1965 in Khan Younis, Gaza, rose to prominence after the martyrdom of Salah Shehadeh, taking command of the Al-Qassam Brigades. Due to his survival of multiple assassination attempts, Israel had dubbed him “the man with nine lives.”
His martyrdom marks a significant moment in the ongoing conflict, likely escalating tensions in the region.
