ISLAMABAD (The COW News digital ) Severe windstorms, rainfall, and hail battered Khyber District last night, causing flash floods in local streams and water to seep into residential homes.
According to the The COW News Digital , the walls of houses and guest rooms collapsed in various areas. No casuality reported till filing this report.
In the locality of Malik Deen Khel, a house was completely destroyed. Fortunately, the family had gone to visit relatives for Eid, which prevented any loss of life.
The storm also broke several solar panels, resulting in financial damages worth hundreds of thousands of rupees.
Local residents described the storm as intense and devastating, with widespread structural damage across the region.
Lahore heat intensified
Meanwhile, in Lahore, the heat has intensified on Eid days. According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, the city is experiencing hot and dry conditions.
The maximum temperature is expected to reach 44°C, while the minimum is 31°C. The meteorological department has issued a heatstroke advisory, warning citizens to take precautions.
The skies over Lahore will remain clear throughout the day, with no chance of rain in the next 24 hours. Winds are expected to blow at 5 kilometres per hour, and humidity levels are around 48%.
The scorching sun will continue to increase the heat index during the day.
Sweltering weather in Karachi
In Karachi, the sweltering weather continued unabated even on Eid day.
The city remained hot and humid, with the current temperature at 31°C but feeling as high as 35°C due to humidity. The maximum temperature could reach 38°C, according to the meteorological office.
Winds from the west were blowing at a speed of 19 km/h, and the humidity level was recorded at 65%.
Weather experts advised Karachi residents to avoid going outdoors unnecessarily between 11 am and 3 pm. They further recommended staying hydrated and consuming cold beverages to cope with the heat.
