Eid-ul-Fitr is a reward from Allah for fasting individuals, a day synonymous with joy and happiness. On this day, happiness fills the air, with men, women, children, and the elderly all dressed in new clothes, celebrating together.
No Eid celebration is complete without something sweet, which is why traditional Sheer Khurma should be served to guests. Its recipe is also quite simple.
Ingredients:
- 4 cups vermicelli
- 1 kg milk
- 7-8 dried dates (finely chopped)
- 10 almonds
- 10 pistachios
- ½ cup black raisins
- 2 tablespoons ghee
- 6 green cardamoms
- 4 cloves
- Sugar to taste.
Method:
First, heat the milk and add sugar, cooking it until it thickens well. Then, add the chopped dried dates and cook for a little longer, reducing the heat to low.
In another pan, heat ghee and add the green cardamom and cloves. Cook until a pleasant aroma begins to rise. Then, add the almonds and pistachios, lightly fry them, and set the mixture aside.
Now, take another pan, crush the vermicelli with your hands, and fry them until golden brown. Then, add the black raisins and cook on medium heat for a little longer.
Now, add the cooked milk with dried dates and the almond-pistachio mixture to the vermicelli. For fragrance, add a little rose water and cook for another 20 minutes. Your delicious Sheer Khurma is now ready to serve!
