In a significant move, Gucci has named Kim Seok-jin, popularly known as Jin, from the K-pop sensation BTS, as its latest global brand ambassador. This appointment solidifies the strong ties between the Italian luxury house and the talented artist.
Jin, the eldest member of BTS, has already made a mark with his unique style and charismatic personality. His involvement with Gucci is not new, as he has been spotted wearing the brand on several occasions. Creative director Sabato De Sarno praised Jin’s magnetic personality and distinctive style, saying, “He is a generous and extraordinary artist who is able to move people with his music.”
As a global ambassador, Jin joins a list of prominent Korean figures, including Hanni, Lee Jung Jae, Park Gyu Young, and Jay Park, who have represented Gucci. This move highlights the brand’s commitment to strengthening its ties with South Korea and celebrating Korean culture.
Gucci is set to launch its “Gucci Cultural Month” initiative on October 15 in Seoul, paying tribute to Korean heritage by spotlighting personalities who have elevated local arts to a global scale. The project will feature renowned talents, including conceptual artist Kimsooja, filmmaker Chan Wook Park, contemporary dancer Eun Me Ahn, and pianist Seong Jin Cho.
Jin’s appointment as global ambassador comes at an exciting time, as he is expected to release a solo album in the second half of the year. BTS is also set to reunite in June 2025 after the other members complete their military services.
