Green Pakistan Initiative launched to modernise agriculture

The Green Pakistan Initiative has been officially launched in Cholistan with the aim of transforming agriculture and offering comprehensive support to farmers.

The launch ceremony was attended by Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Federal Ministers Rana Tanveer Hussain and Musadik Malik.

Key components of the initiative include the opening of a Green Mall and Service Company, a Smart Agri Farm, and an Agricultural Research and Facility Centre.

The Green Agri Mall and Service Company will provide farmers with access to high-quality seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides at discounted rates, delivered directly to their doorsteps.

Additionally, the initiative will offer affordable rental options for agricultural machinery, including drones.

Meanwhile, a 5,000-acre smart farm, equipped with modern irrigation and farming techniques, was also launched to promote sustainable agriculture and higher yields with lower costs.

The agricultural research centre will provide soil testing, laboratory services, and serve as a hub for agricultural education and research across Pakistan.

Maryam Nawaz highlighted that the projects mark the beginning of an agricultural revolution in Punjab, ensuring farmers’ growth and Pakistan’s prosperity. She also distributed land allotment letters to children of martyrs and injured veterans.
