Governor KP Faisal Karim Kundi Addresses Media in Dera Ismail Khan

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi inaugurated a project to upgrade the Regional Passport Office in Dera Ismail Khan, introducing modern facilities to ease public access.

Speaking at the event, the governor said, “For years, the office lacked proper infrastructure. Today, we have inaugurated five new desks to better serve the public.” He highlighted that citizens in the southern districts had long faced difficulties in obtaining passports.

Kundi announced plans to establish a passport desk at the NADRA office in Paharpur and emphasized his commitment to addressing federal institutional issues. “My aim is to ensure that Dera Ismail Khan progresses on the path of development,” he added.

The governor also mentioned the upcoming inauguration of a National Airport at Ghuloti, which is expected to boost the region’s connectivity and economic growth.

Paying tribute to the martyrs of December 16, Kundi stated, “I salute the sacrifices made by citizens for peace in the country.” He further suggested that the provincial assembly should hold sessions in Bannu and Dera Ismail Khan, reflecting the importance of these regions.

Addressing the issue of internally displaced persons (IDPs) from Kurram, Kundi urged the provincial government to extend its support. He dismissed any possibility of an NRO for PTI, stating that any negotiations would take place with the cooperation of allied parties.

In a sharp critique of PTI leadership, Kundi said, “Today, they consider Maulana their savior, but those who run with two bottles of liquor cannot free their leader.” He also expressed concerns over the condition of roads in Kurram and criticized the provincial government for ignoring the issue, comparing its approach to “burying its head in the sand like a pigeon.”

He concluded by highlighting the public’s frustrations, saying, “If a mobile phone is stolen in Sindh, people question the government, but KP’s government has failed to address critical issues in Kurram.”
