government is expected to reduce the price of petrol on the occasion of the New Year.

Date:

government is expected to reduce the price of petrol on the occasion of the New Year.

There is a possibility of a reduction of 2 rupees per liter in the price of petrol. However, High-Speed Diesel (HSD) is expected to increase by 3.62 rupees per liter from January 1, 2025, for the next fifteen days. Petroleum has a premium of $8.69 per barrel, but the adjustment to reduce the petrol price by more than 2 rupees per liter has been made despite the increase in diesel prices.

According to industrial sources, there is no issue with supply and demand in the international market. However, the geopolitical situation, particularly the situation in Syria, and the uncertainty caused by how the new U.S. leadership will handle global issues are influencing the fluctuations in POL (Petroleum, Oil, and Lubricants) prices.

The price of petrol for the next fifteen days is estimated to remain at 250.20 rupees per liter, while after the 3.62 rupees per liter increase, the price of diesel is expected to be 259 rupees per liter.

The new price of Light Diesel Oil (LDO) is estimated to increase by 3.30 rupees per liter, while kerosene oil is expected to rise by 3.03 rupees per liter, making it 151.97 rupees per liter. The price of kerosene oil is expected to slightly increase by 0.05 rupees per liter, bringing it to 161.71 rupees per liter.
