Mohsin Naqvi stated that from January 17, the Pak ID website will be shut down, and three new regional centers will be set up in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gwadar, and Gilgit-Baltistan. All services previously available on the Pak ID website will now be provided through the mobile app. The decision to close the website comes after citizens, especially Pakistanis living abroad, faced difficulties using the website.
Mohsin Naqvi further explained that citizens experienced issues in uploading scanned fingerprints and required documents. Fraudulent elements were using fake websites to assist in creating counterfeit identification documents, obtaining personal information, and attempting to misuse it. To curb these activities, the website will be shut down from January 17.
The Interior Minister also mentioned that both the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have taken strict notice of these fraudulent activities. NADRA, in collaboration with other institutions, is ensuring strict action against these elements. The NADRA mobile app has been significantly improved, offering services for ID cards, NICOP, POC, B-Form, and FRC. Citizens can complete all their identification document processes directly from the mobile app.
The new regional offices will begin functioning on March 31, which will make communication between NADRA officials and citizens easier. These offices will also improve service delivery in remote areas, resolve citizens’ issues quickly, and ensure immediate redressal of complaints.
By March 31, NADRA offices will be established in all tehsils across the country. Only 19 tehsils were left without NADRA offices, but work is progressing rapidly, and these offices will be operational by March 31.
