Islamabad: The Ministry of Religious Affairs has announced that an additional 5,000 pilgrims will be able to perform Hajj under the government scheme.
According to the Ministry, 81,500 applications have already been received for the government Hajj scheme. Now, applications will be accepted for the remaining 5,000 slots, allowing more individuals to undertake the sacred pilgrimage.
Sources from the Ministry of Religious Affairs confirmed that the receipt of applications for these remaining slots will begin next week.
The Ministry also clarified that there will be no lottery system for these new applications. Instead, Hajj tickets will be issued on a “first-come, first-served” basis.
This follows previous announcements about the government Hajj scheme, including the extension of application deadlines three times despite receiving 7,000 fewer applications than expected.
