Gold prices in Pakistan have seen a significant uptick once again, with the rate per tola increasing by Rs1,000 to reach a record high of Rs262,500. This surge comes despite a fall in gold rates in the international market. The price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold also rose by Rs857, taking it to Rs225,051.
In contrast, the global gold market experienced a downward trend, with the international price of gold falling to $2,503 per ounce after a $13 decrease. The All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA) reported this decline.
Silver prices in the local market, however, remained stable, holding at Rs2,950 per tola. The fluctuating gold prices in Pakistan continue to be influenced by international market dynamics, as well as domestic factors such as currency exchange rates and demand within the country.
