KARACHI ( The COW News Digital) Pakistani actor Gohar Rasheed has revealed that actress Kubra Khan initially declined his marriage proposal, but he persisted until she eventually agreed. Speaking in a recent interview, Rasheed shared personal details about his relationship, emphasizing the importance of friendship as the foundation of their union.
Rasheed said that he and Kubra began as close friends without any romantic involvement. However, over time their friendship gradually turned into love. He disclosed that his long-held dream was to have his nikah in Makkah, a wish Kubra also shared. “When destiny brought us together, our marriage took place in the sacred land of Makkah,” he explained.
The actor admitted that the first step toward love came from him. “I was always drawn to Kubra, but because we were friends, I never thought of her that way initially. She rejected my proposal at first, but I didn’t give up. Eventually, she said yes,” Rasheed recounted with a smile.
Highlighting the strength of their relationship, Rasheed described marriage rooted in friendship as a blessing. “Such a marriage already has trust and understanding as its base,” he noted.
Offering advice to young people, the actor suggested fulfilling worldly ambitions before marriage, as he sees marriage as a spiritual bond requiring responsibility and sacrifice. He also stressed that while gifts are nice, the greatest gift a husband can give his wife is security and freedom. “It is important for a woman to feel safe and confident,” he said.
Expressing gratitude, Rasheed described Kubra Khan as the greatest blessing in his life. “I am thankful for this relationship every day,” he concluded.
