A 19-year-old woman broke her jaw after attempting to bite into a three-inch jawbreaker candy, an incident that has left social media users both shocked and amused.
The Canadian student, Javeria Wasim, had seen many people bite smaller candies online, but had never seen anyone attempt to bite a jawbreaker of this size. Curious, Javeria decided to try it for herself, a decision she would later regret.
While trying to break the candy’s outer layer, she suddenly experienced intense pain in her lower jaw. One of her friends noted that a tooth had already cracked, and upon checking herself, Javeria realized another tooth was loose. The pain was so severe that every time she opened her mouth, she felt sharp pangs.
Her friend immediately called for an ambulance, and an X-ray later revealed that Javeria had fractured her jaw in two places while trying to bite the candy. The incident serves as a cautionary tale about the dangers of attempting to bite extremely hard candies.
