The grandfather, Khaled Nabhan, who shook the world last year after the tragic loss of his grandchildren, has himself been martyred in Israeli shelling.
According to Arab media reports, Khaled Nabhan gained international attention last year when a heart-wrenching video surfaced showing him holding his martyred 3-year-old granddaughter, Reem, in his arms. Overwhelmed with grief, he kissed her eyes and called her “the soul of my soul.”
The video, capturing his unbearable sorrow in the aftermath of Israeli airstrikes that claimed the lives of his family, struck a chord globally and highlighted the immense suffering in Gaza.
On Monday morning, Israeli airstrikes targeted the Nuseirat Refugee Camp in central Gaza, where Khaled Nabhan, also known as “Abu Deia,” was martyred, as reported by Arab media.
Following the devastating loss of his family last year, Khaled had dedicated his life to aiding Palestinians in need.
To recall, in November of last year, Israeli airstrikes killed Khaled’s 3-year-old granddaughter Reem and 5-year-old grandson Tariq, while his daughter Maisa (the mother of the martyrs) sustained severe injuries.
Khaled Nabhan’s story is yet another tragic testament to the unrelenting suffering faced by families in Gaza. His sacrifice underscores the ongoing humanitarian crisis that continues to devastate countless lives.
