Islamabad, Pakistan – An accountability court in Islamabad has granted bail to Bushra Bibi, the wife of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, in a £190 million corruption case. However, she will remain in prison due to her conviction in the Iddat case. The court approved her pre-arrest bail request, providing some relief in her ongoing legal battles.
Bushra Bibi and Imran Khan face charges in the high-profile corruption case, which was filed by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in December 2023. The reference accused the PTI chief and his wife of collusion and corruption, alleging that they illegally obtained £190 million.
Despite the bail approval, prison officials stated that Bushra Bibi cannot be released due to her conviction in the Iddat case. Earlier, the NAB challenged Imran Khan\’s post-arrest bail in the apex court, urging the SC to overturn the Islamabad High Court\’s verdict.
