FIA Islamabad Arrests Six Human Smugglers Linked to Libya Boat Tragedy

Islamabad: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Islamabad Zone has successfully apprehended six suspects, including high-profile human smugglers, in connection with the tragic Libya boat accident. The operations were carried out under the directives of FIA Director General Ahmed Ishaq Jahangir, who emphasized tightening the net around individuals involved in such incidents.

The arrested suspects have been identified as Muhammad Arshad, Sohaib Ali Hashmat, Ahmed Nawaz, Zulfiqar, Mazhar Khan, and Mansha. Among them, Ahmed Nawaz, Muhammad Arshad, Mazhar Khan, and Mansha were directly linked to the Libya boat tragedy that occurred in 2023.

The suspects are now in custody, and investigations have commenced to uncover further details. Meanwhile, raids are ongoing to apprehend additional individuals involved in the human smuggling network.

The FIA has reiterated its commitment to conducting intelligence-based operations against human smugglers. The Director of FIA Islamabad Zone stated that the crackdown on those responsible for boat tragedies will continue, with all available resources being utilized to bring them to justice.
