In a significant bust, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested two passengers and an immigration official at Karachi Airport for using fake Canadian passports. The detainees, Muhammad Bashir and Rizwan Khan, were attempting to fly to Canada with fraudulent passports that lacked essential security features.

Initial investigations revealed that the suspects purchased the fake passports for Rs. 10 million each from an agent named Usman in Wazirabad. The FIA has transferred the suspects to the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle in Karachi for further legal proceedings.

This incident highlights the ongoing issue of human trafficking and fake travel documents. Last month, the FIA arrested three passengers and an agent at New Islamabad International Airport for using fake documents to travel abroad. Similarly, four passengers were detained at Jinnah International Airport in Karachi for possessing fake visas.

FIA Director General Ahmad Ishaq commended the team’s performance, emphasizing the crucial role of modern equipment in preventing human trafficking.
