In a disturbing incident in the Blue Area of Islamabad, female police officers allegedly assaulted a rider for a delay in delivering an order. The Islamabad Inspector General (IG) took immediate notice of the incident.
IG Islamabad responded by suspending the female police officers involved in the assault. A two-member committee has been formed to investigate the matter, with further action pending upon the committee’s findings.
The rider, who was allegedly assaulted, shared his account with the media, explaining that the female officers had ordered goods, but when he arrived in the Blue Area, his phone ran out of battery. He went to a nearby shop to charge his phone, which caused a slight delay. The rider claimed that the police officers slapped him in public and even broke his glasses in the process.
