Karachi residents face yet another tax as a withholding tax has now been imposed on wedding hall bookings. The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has decided to levy a 10% withholding tax on wedding events.
According to details, the decision to collect this tax was made during a meeting between wedding hall owners and FBR officials. President of the Wedding Hall Association, Rana Raees, stated that a 10% withholding tax will be charged to the party hosting the event. This tax is in addition to the wedding hall rental fee and is being implemented as per FBR directives.
Rana Raees clarified that wedding hall owners are not responsible for the withholding tax amount, as it will be collected directly from the hosting party.
