Karachi: Former news anchor Farah Iqrar has made controversial remarks, claiming that men with only one wife are often involved in extramarital affairs, and their wives even allow such behavior.
Farah Iqrar, who appeared on Rabi Pirzada’s podcast recently, openly discussed polygamy and men having multiple marriages. During the podcast, she dismissed the notion that her husband’s two other wives were against her, stating that they do not harbor any negative thoughts about her.
She revealed that her husband, prominent TV host Iqrar-ul-Hassan, is currently on an international trip with both his wives and son, and she has no issue with it.
Farah further elaborated that when she married Iqrar-ul-Hassan as his second wife, it might have initially upset his first wife. However, she emphasized that she has no objections to her husband’s third marriage and wouldn’t mind if he decides to marry a fourth time.
She explained that, as a believer, she cannot object to something God has permitted, referring to Islam’s allowance for men to have up to four wives.
Rejecting the stereotype that financial status drives men to have multiple marriages, Farah asserted that the desire for polygamy is rooted in men’s nature, not their wealth. She added that men wish to marry more than once and often want women to surround them.
In a bold claim, Farah stated that men with only one wife are often involved in extramarital affairs, and surprisingly, their wives allow it. She suggested that many women tell their husbands to have girlfriends or affairs but oppose the idea of bringing a second wife into the household.
Her comments have sparked widespread debate, with many finding her remarks controversial. However, Farah defended her stance, reiterating that this is a reality many may find uncomfortable.
It is worth noting that Iqrar-ul-Hassan, Farah’s husband, is known for having three wives and frequently makes headlines for his personal life.
