Islamabad (News Desk) – The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has issued a stern warning, reminding citizens that obtaining a Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) is mandatory upon reaching the age of 18.
Under Section 9(1) of the NADRA Ordinance 2000, individuals are required to apply for their CNIC within 90 days of turning 18. Failure to comply with this regulation could result in severe penalties.
As per Section 30(e) of the ordinance, those who fail to apply within the stipulated time may face up to six months of imprisonment with hard labor, a fine of up to Rs. 50,000, or both.
NADRA has urged citizens to adhere to the law to avoid legal consequences and emphasized the importance of timely registration for all eligible individuals.
