Explosion Rocks Sindh High Court Building in Karachi

A powerful explosion shook the Sindh High Court (SHC) building in Karachi, Pakistan, on Wednesday morning, causing significant damage but fortunately, no casualties were reported. The blast occurred at around 6:00 a.m. in the canteen of the new bar room, allegedly due to a gas leakage.

The explosion was so intense that it cracked all the windowpanes of the bar room and the canteen. The SHC security team immediately sprang into action, calling in the bomb disposal squad to screen the area and ensure there were no further threats.

This incident is the latest in a series of gas cylinder explosions in Karachi, which have resulted in injuries and damage. Earlier, a gas cylinder blast in a house in Orangi Town injured 12 people, including women and children. The injured were transferred to nearby hospitals for medical treatment.

In another incident, a cylinder explosion in a shop at the generator market in front of the Karachi Chamber of Commerce damaged the building and nearby vehicles. A fire erupted in the shop after the blast, spreading debris onto the road.

The recent spate of gas cylinder explosions raises concerns about safety measures and the need for regular checks to prevent such incidents. Authorities must take immediate action to ensure public safety and prevent further accidents.
