California: X founder Elon Musk has declared the use of hashtags on the platform as unnecessary.
According to international news agencies, Musk sparked a new debate about X when he labeled hashtags as outdated and redundant.
In response to a user’s query about whether to use hashtags, Musk advised against it, stating, “Please stop using hashtags. The system no longer needs them, and they look ugly.”
Musk’s dismissal of hashtags on X has sparked a strong reaction among users. While some users supported his stance, claiming that hashtags are indeed unnecessary on X and offer no real benefit, others questioned the need to waste time typing them, especially since the system already understands the context of the conversation.
