“Eid ul-Azha Celebrated with Devotion and Religious Fervor”

The nation is celebrating Eidul Azha with deep religious devotion and traditional fervour, commemorating the great sacrifice of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS), reports The COW News digital.

The day began with special Eid prayers at mosques, Eidgahs, and open grounds across the country. People gathered in large numbers to seek Allah’s blessings, offering heartfelt prayers for the well-being of the Ummah and peace, progress, and prosperity in Pakistan.

In Eid sermons, religious scholars highlighted the spirit of sacrifice and obedience to Allah demonstrated by Hazrat Ibrahim (AS), urging the faithful to embody those values.

Following the prayers, the ritual of Qurbani (sacrifice of animals) began, as people across Pakistan slaughtered goats, cows, and camels in remembrance of Hazrat Ibrahim’s (AS) willingness to sacrifice his son in submission to Allah’s command.

Authorities made special security and sanitation arrangements to ensure the proper disposal of offal and sacrificial animal waste. Citizens were urged to follow hygiene guidelines and act responsibly during the festivities.

In Islamabad, over 3,000 police officers were deployed as part of a comprehensive security plan. DIG Operations Muhammad Jawad Tariq said that special traffic units had been assigned to maintain smooth vehicular flow, while Dolphin Force and CTD quick response teams remain on high alert. The city’s security is also being monitored through Safe City surveillance cameras.

Most political leaders offered Eid prayers in their hometowns and constituencies. They extended Eid greetings to local leaders and constituents.

JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman offered Eid prayers in his ancestral village in Dera Ismail Khan, accompanied by family members and party leaders.

In Karachi, Federal Minister Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui offered prayers at Jinnah Ground, Azizabad. He called for unity beyond politics and warned against provocations from India, which he described as an increasingly extremist state.

Foreign dignitaries also shared Eid greetings.  Romanian Ambassador Dr Dan Stenescu conveyed Eid greetings in Urdu, wishing the people of Pakistan joy and unity. He expressed hope that the occasion would strengthen bilateral ties and bring peace and prosperity to both nations.

The Polish Embassy in Islamabad also extended Eid wishes, emphasising peace and shared prosperity.

The Chinese Embassy spokesperson greeted the Pakistani nation and reiterated China’s resolve to strengthen the Sino-Pak friendship.

Prominent Pakistani cricketers also shared Eid greetings with the nation. Salman Ali Agha, Mohammad Rizwan, Shaheen Afridi, Faheem Ashraf, and Saim Ayub encouraged the public to celebrate joyfully but to remember those who could not afford to offer sacrifices.
