ECP Unveils Updated Roster of Registered Political Parties, PTI Included

A total of 166 political parties are currently registered with the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), according to an updated list released by the commission. The list includes prominent parties such as the Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N), Jamaat-e-Islami, and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

The ECP has recognized the elections of the PML-N and Jamaat-e-Islami, and has updated the names of party presidents or chairmen for several political parties. Mian Nawaz Sharif has been listed as the President of the Muslim League-N, while Naeem-ur-Rehman Khan has been updated as the party chief of Jamaat-e-Islami.

However, the name of the party chairman of the PTI has not been updated yet. Mehmood Khan has been named as the Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Parliamentarian. The ECP has also updated the names of the new party president or chairman of many political parties.

Other notable updates include Asif Ali Zardari remaining as the President of the Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarian, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari as Chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party, and Asfandiar Wali Khan as president of the Awami National Party.
