In his latest social media message, former U.S. President Donald Trump labeled Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky a comedian who had limited success in his field. He accused Zelensky of misleading the United States into spending $350 billion on a war that Ukraine could never win.
“This war should never have started. It’s a conflict they cannot end without America and Trump’s help,” Trump stated. He criticized the Biden administration for spending $200 billion more than Europe on the war, arguing that the U.S. would never recover the money.
Trump questioned why “sleepy” Joe Biden did not demand equal financial contributions from Europe, given that the war was more crucial to them. “After all, there’s a big, beautiful ocean between us and Russia,” he remarked.
The former president also referenced claims that half of the U.S. aid sent to Ukraine had gone unaccounted for. He pointed out that Zelensky was avoiding holding elections in Ukraine and that his popularity among the Ukrainian public had significantly declined.
“The only thing Zelensky was good at was playing Biden like a flute,” Trump said. He warned that Zelensky needed to act quickly or risk losing his country altogether. Meanwhile, he claimed that his team was successfully negotiating with Russia to end the war—something only he could accomplish, as Biden and Europe had failed.
“I love Ukraine, but Zelensky has made terrible decisions, and his country has been devastated,” Trump concluded.
