Dollar Becomes Expensive in Interbank Market, Rupee Appreciates by 1.17% in 2024

Karachi:
On the last day of the year, the dollar closed at 278.55 Pakistani rupees in the interbank market.

According to the State Bank of Pakistan, the dollar had closed at 278.48 rupees on the previous day.

Overall, the Pakistani rupee appreciated by 1.17% in 2024.

In the interbank market, the dollar became 3.31 rupees cheaper during the year, as it stood at 281.86 rupees at the end of 2023.

The highest value of the dollar in 2024 was 281.89 rupees, while the lowest was 277.51 rupees.

Throughout 2024, the dollar fluctuated within a band of 4.37 rupees in the interbank market.
