Islamabad: A report presented in the Senate has revealed the details of registered religious schools (madrasas) and students across Pakistan. According to the report, there are a total of 17,000 registered madrasas in the country, with 2,249,520 registered students.

  • Punjab: 10,012 registered madrasas with 664,065 students
  • Sindh: 2,416 registered madrasas with 188,182 students
  • Balochistan: 575 registered madrasas with 71,815 students
  • Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 4,005 registered madrasas with 1,283,024 students
  • Azad Jammu and Kashmir: 445 registered madrasas with 26,787 students
  • Islamabad: 199 registered madrasas with 11,301 students
  • Gilgit-Baltistan: 86 registered madrasas with 4,346 students

This data highlights the scale and reach of religious educational institutions in Pakistan, reflecting the diverse and widespread nature of religious schooling across various regions of the country.
