“We are ready to discuss any issue if approached,” states Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s advisor.

Islamabad: Prime Minister’s advisor Rana Sanaullah emphasized the necessity of dialogue between the government and opposition, stating that a democratic system cannot function without constructive engagement. Speaking during the National Assembly session, he reiterated that the government remains open to political negotiations if the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) initiates contact.

Rana Sanaullah urged PTI to formally convey its willingness for talks through a negotiation committee. “PTI has yet to officially communicate regarding the formation of a committee for dialogue. The Prime Minister has already said that we are prepared to discuss any issue,” he noted.

He added that when Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif visited the Assembly, he extended a gesture of reconciliation by shaking hands with the opposition, signaling the government’s openness to dialogue. “Even then, the opposition chose not to accept the offer,” Sanaullah remarked.

Reflecting on the political tensions, Rana Sanaullah stated that losses on both sides should evoke collective regret. “Until the government and opposition engage in dialogue, the system cannot move forward. We said this even when the opposition declared a hardline stance of ‘leaving no one unpunished.’”

He praised the Speaker of the National Assembly for maintaining impartiality and encouraged PTI to take the initiative. “PTI should inform the government about its negotiation committee and intentions for political dialogue. We will also make efforts, and I hope a positive outcome will eventually emerge.”

The remarks highlight the government’s call for a resolution through political engagement, as tensions between the ruling coalition and the opposition persist.
