Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir visited Peshawar in the context of the National Apex Committee meeting held on November 19. During his visit, he was given a comprehensive briefing on the current security situation and the ongoing counter-terrorism operations in the region. The Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and field commanders were also present on the occasion.
According to the ISPR, General Syed Asim Munir paid rich tribute to the unparalleled sacrifices of the martyrs and veterans in the defense of the homeland.
He stated that these sacrifices are a testament to the unwavering resolve and dedication of the armed forces and law enforcement agencies. General Syed Asim Munir appreciated the high morale, operational preparedness, and steadfast determination of the troops in effectively countering all threats.
He reiterated the Pakistan Army’s commitment to eliminating enemy networks and eradicating illegal elements that threaten national security. Highlighting the collective resolve of the nation and security forces in combating terrorism, the Army Chief emphasized that defeating the nefarious designs of enemy elements remains a top priority.
He assured that through coordination and effective operations, the Pakistan Army, in collaboration with law enforcement agencies, will ensure lasting stability and security while thwarting the plans of peace’s adversaries. Upon his arrival, General Syed Asim Munir was welcomed by the Corps Commander Peshawar.
