NEW YORK (The COW News Digital) Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar held a significant meeting with his Kuwaiti counterpart, Abdullah Al-Yahya, on the sidelines of an international conference on the two-state solution hosted at the United Nations.
According to Pakistan’s Foreign Office, the discussion focused on ways to further strengthen bilateral relations between Pakistan and Kuwait. Both leaders emphasized the need to enhance cooperation in key areas including trade, investment, energy, food security, and defense.
The meeting highlighted the shared commitment of both countries to deepen their partnership through practical and strategic collaboration. Ishaq Dar and Al-Yahya reaffirmed their resolve to maintain close cooperation on multilateral platforms such as the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
The two foreign ministers agreed on the importance of organizing high-level exchanges in the near future to intensify diplomatic engagement and advance shared regional and global priorities.
During the talks, both sides expressed serious concern over the worsening humanitarian situation in Gaza due to continued Israeli aggression. The ministers underscored the urgent need for a just and lasting solution to the Palestinian issue based on internationally agreed parameters, including the two-state solution.
They also expressed hope that the outcomes of the UN-hosted conference in New York would contribute meaningfully to the practical implementation of the two-state solution and restore peace and stability in the Middle East.
Foreign Minister Dar reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause and appreciated Kuwait’s consistent stance on the issue. Both sides emphasized unity and coordinated action within the Muslim world to address the humanitarian crisis and advocate for the rights of the Palestinian people.
The meeting with Kuwait’s top diplomat comes as part of a broader Pakistani diplomatic initiative to engage key Muslim countries on the sidelines of global forums to enhance bilateral ties and push for collective action on pressing international challenges.
The interaction also reaffirmed the long-standing fraternal relations between Pakistan and Kuwait, which continue to evolve in scope and depth through political consultations and people-to-people contacts.
