Cyberattack on ATMs: 1LINK Debunks Social Media Rumors

1LINK Limited, Pakistan’s largest payment gateway, has denied reports of a cyberattack on ATMs, contradicting social media rumors. The company assured that no cyber threats have been detected and the financial service industry remains vigilant.

A message circulating on social media claimed that ATMs would be closed for two to three days due to a ransomware attack and warned against online transactions. However, 1LINK and BBC Urdu have dismissed these claims.

The company emphasized that the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) is working closely with banks and 1LINK to maintain the security of Pakistan’s financial infrastructure and digital payments ecosystem.
