Lakki Marwat (News Desk) – A joint operation by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and police resulted in the death of one terrorist in Lakki Marwat. According to CTD officials, the security forces carried out an intelligence-based operation in the Shagai area, within the jurisdiction of Gumbela police station.
During an exchange of fire with militants, one terrorist was killed while two others managed to flee. Authorities recovered weapons and ammunition from the deceased terrorist. The killed militant, identified as Asif Ali, was a local commander of the Kharijite faction and a close associate of the highly wanted Kharijite militant Inamullah alias Lamba.
Officials revealed that the terrorists were planning an attack on police and security forces. During the raid, the militants opened fire on the police, prompting a return of fire. After the firefight, a search operation led to the discovery of the deceased terrorist. CTD officials confirmed that two other militants, Inamullah alias Lamba and Waliat, managed to escape during the operation.
