A couple in China has captured the internet’s attention after recently getting married, with their story taking an unexpected twist. Two decades ago, they portrayed a married couple in a school play, and now, they have actually tied the knot.
Zheng and his wife (whose name has not been disclosed) got married on January 7, 2025, in the city of Guangdong Province. Interestingly, their wedding took place at the same school where, 20 years ago, they played the roles of husband and wife on stage.
A video of the school play resurfaced on the internet, showing the young children dressed in elaborate wedding costumes, complete with makeup. Alongside them were several other children who played the roles of their wedding attendants.
After finishing school, Zheng and his wife went on to attend different primary schools, and they lost touch with each other. It wasn’t until 2022 that they were reunited. A friend of Zheng shared the footage of the school play, which was then seen by Zheng’s mother. Upon watching the video, she encouraged her son to search for the girl so they could meet again.
At the time, Zheng was still single, and his parents were eager for him to get married. With the help of a schoolteacher, Zheng found his future wife, who was also unmarried. The two rekindled their connection and eventually fell in love, culminating in their recent marriage.
