Faisalabad: During a press conference, Hafiz Naeem Ur Rehman expressed strong disapproval of the recent salary hike for Punjab Assembly members, labeling it a grave injustice to the public struggling under rising inflation.
He stated, “While the people face economic hardships and gas prices soar by 25%, the ruling elite have shown exceptional unity in increasing their own perks and privileges by several hundred percent.”
Highlighting the disparity, Rehman added, “All political parties easily agree on enhancing their benefits, but when it comes to providing relief to the public, the Senate, National Assembly, and Provincial Assemblies remain divided. Ironically, 80% of the members benefiting from these privileges do not even require them.”
He further criticized the lack of empathy among legislators and called for prioritizing public welfare over self-serving interests.
