Cold Wave Grips Most Areas of the Country, Met Office Issues Warning

Islamabad: The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecasted an increase in cold temperatures across most parts of the country. Mountainous regions are expected to experience severe cold, while Islamabad and surrounding areas may see cloudy skies with chilly weather.

upper districts of Punjab, including Murree, Galyat, and nearby areas, are likely to witness extreme cold and light rain. Meanwhile, regions such as Sialkot, Narowal, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sahiwal, and Okara are expected to experience fog and smog. Similar conditions are forecasted for Multan, Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, and Bahawalnagar.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, most districts will remain cold, with severe conditions in mountainous regions. Light rain and snowfall are anticipated in Chitral, Swat, Dir, Kohistan, and Mansehra.

Sindh’s districts, including Sukkur, Shikarpur, Kashmore, and Khairpur, are expected to remain cold and dry, with dense fog predicted in certain areas.

Balochistan will also face chilly weather, particularly in its mountainous areas. Cities such as Quetta, Qila Abdullah, Pishin, Ziarat, and Qila Saifullah may see partly cloudy skies.

In Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, the weather will remain extremely cold and overcast. Light rain and snowfall are expected in some areas, especially in higher altitudes.

Winter Break Announced
Educational institutions in certain regions have started announcing winter vacations, considering the worsening weather conditions.
