📍 Karachi, (The COW News Digital ) The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a fresh 3-day weather forecast for Karachi and the broader Sindh region, warning residents of increased humidity, light drizzle, and persistent warm temperatures.

According to the PMD’s Early Warning Centre, Karachi is expected to experience mostly cloudy and humid conditions over the next three days, with the possibility of light rain or drizzle in some parts of the city. Southwesterly sea breezes will remain active, pushing up moisture levels and creating muggy conditions across urban areas.

The forecast indicates that temperatures in Karachi will hover between 33°C and 35°C during the daytime. Combined with rising humidity, this will lead to a feeling of discomfort and a persistent sense of heat. The PMD advised residents to stay hydrated and avoid unnecessary exposure to the sun during peak hours.

“Southwest winds from the Arabian Sea are fully active and contributing to higher humidity levels, which may result in mild drizzle in some neighborhoods,” a spokesperson from the department said.

While coastal areas like Karachi may get some relief from cloud cover and drizzle, the rest of Sindh is likely to face hot and dry weather conditions. Many districts will continue to experience extreme heat, with no significant change expected in temperature trends.

The PMD reported that areas including Hyderabad, Sukkur, Larkana, and Dadu will witness maximum temperatures between 40°C and 44°C. In particular, parts of Tharparkar, Umerkot, and Mithi could receive light showers or localized drizzle, which may offer temporary respite from the intense heat.

The Meteorological Department has urged the public, particularly in interior Sindh, to exercise caution during the daytime. “Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, especially between 12 noon and 4 PM, and wear loose, light-colored clothing,” the advisory stated.

Hospitals and emergency services have also been put on alert, especially in areas vulnerable to heatwaves. Citizens have been encouraged to check on elderly family members and those with chronic illnesses who are more vulnerable to heatstroke.

Weather experts predict that similar conditions may prevail until early next week. While Karachi may enjoy occasional cloudiness and mild showers, no widespread monsoon activity is expected in the province during this period.

The PMD will continue to monitor evolving conditions and release timely updates. In the meantime, residents are advised to follow safety guidelines, conserve water, and stay indoors during the hottest parts of the day.
