PTI’s Rise to Power Was No Secret, Says Federal Minister
Peshawar:
Federal Minister Ameer Muqam has warned that civil disobedience will only damage Pakistan as a nation and not its institutions, terming such actions intolerable. Speaking at an event in Peshawar, he emphasized the need for unity and criticized elements causing instability in the country.
“This country was built through sacrifices by Quaid-e-Azam and his companions. It is our collective responsibility to protect it,” said Muqam. Highlighting Pakistan’s status as a nuclear power, he added, “No one can look at Pakistan with malintent while it remains strong and united.”
Muqam condemned those spreading unrest, stating, “Politics comes second; the nation comes first. Those harming the country cannot call themselves patriotic Pakistanis. Our armed forces have made countless sacrifices for the nation, and individuals criticizing institutions should reflect on their own actions.”
The minister pointed to the rise of PTI, remarking, “The manner in which PTI was brought into power is no secret. Civil disobedience will harm Pakistan, not its institutions. Such behavior cannot be tolerated. We have always supported the Charter of Democracy, yet those advocating for talks now were the ones avoiding them earlier.”
Addressing the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Muqam said, “The PTI government has been given a third mandate by the people. They should focus on delivering results instead of spreading chaos. They should look at Punjab, where significant development is underway, and strive to solve problems instead of launching attacks on Islamabad.”
He criticized PTI’s leadership, asserting, “Our politics does not revolve around one individual. The goals of the government and the Army Chief are to serve the people and ensure stability. Let’s pledge to prioritize Pakistan over politics.”
Muqam also reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to its nuclear and missile programs, declaring, “We will not accept dictation from any country regarding our defense capabilities. Prime Minister’s firm stance against external pressures yesterday reflects our collective resolve. Together, we must move forward for the nation’s betterment.”
