Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has reaffirmed Beijing’s unwavering support for Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, while also calling for diplomatic efforts to ensure a long-term ceasefire between Pakistan and India.

In a telephone conversation with Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Wang Yi emphasized that China will continue to back Pakistan’s sovereignty. He also encouraged both Islamabad and New Delhi to engage in dialogue and seek a peaceful resolution to the escalating tensions through diplomatic channels.

On the other side, the Chinese Foreign Minister also held a separate conversation with India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval. During their discussion, Wang Yi urged both India and Pakistan to resolve their issues through dialogue and avoid actions that could intensify regional instability.

According to a statement issued by China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Doval acknowledged that Indian personnel were killed in the recent attack in Pahalgam, prompting India to respond. He clarified that war was not India’s preference and reiterated New Delhi’s commitment to a ceasefire.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry also condemned all forms of terrorism, including the Pahalgam attack, and stressed that as neighboring countries, India and Pakistan must work together to prevent further threats to regional peace and stability.

Operation Bunyān Marsūs – Pakistan’s Swift Military Response

In response to Indian aggression, Pakistan launched Operation Bunyān Marsūs (Iron Wall), striking over a dozen key Indian military installations. Targets included airbases and military fields in Adampur, Udhampur, Bathinda, Suratgarh, Mamoon, Akhnoor, Jammu, Sirsa, and Barnala. Additionally, supply depots in Uri and airfields in Sirsa and Halwara were also hit.

The operation saw Pakistan deploying its Fatah-1 missile system with precision, and a JF-17 Thunder fighter jet reportedly launched a hypersonic missile that destroyed a $1.5 billion Indian S-400 air defense system in Adampur.

Following this forceful retaliation, both countries agreed to a ceasefire, de-escalating what many feared could spiral into a larger regional conflict.
