Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Mohsin Naqvi, has stated that the ICC Champions Trophy tournament is a matter of honor for Pakistan and all preparations for the event are complete.
During the 76th meeting of the PCB Governing Board, chaired by Naqvi, the board members were briefed on the progress of the Champions Trophy and the renovations of key stadiums, including Qaddafi Stadium, National Stadium, and Rawalpindi Stadium.
Naqvi informed the board about the developments related to the ICC Champions Trophy and emphasized that the PCB has been focused on Pakistan and cricket’s victory from the very beginning. He reassured the board that the PCB is fully prepared to host the event.
Naqvi further remarked that Pakistan’s stance on the tournament has been widely appreciated, and the Champions Trophy represents the country’s honor. He assured that no compromises will be made, and all participating teams will be welcomed with open arms. Naqvi expressed the desire for Pakistani fans to watch all the teams playing on their home grounds.
He also reiterated his opposition to the politicization of cricket, emphasizing that the sport should remain just that—a game loved by millions of fans around the world.
