Breakthrough in Gwadar: Baloch Yakjehti Committee Calls Off Protests After Successful Talks with Govt

In a significant development, the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) has called off its sit-in protests in Gwadar and other areas of Balochistan, following a marathon round of talks with government officials. The negotiations, which concluded late on Thursday night, were held in Gwadar and led by senior minister Mir Zahoor Ahmed Buledi and BYC representatives Dr. Mahrang Baloch and Sammi Deen.

The breakthrough comes after several hours of discussions, which resolved all outstanding issues between the government and BYC. The successful talks mark a significant step forward in addressing the concerns of the Baloch people and promoting peace and stability in the region.

Dr. Mahrang Baloch, leader of the BYC, announced the decision to call off the protests, stating, “After ending our sit-in in the port city, the BYC convoy will leave for Turbat where a public gathering will be held.” The convoy is set to depart for Turbat at 10 am, with a public rally planned for the afternoon.

The government delegation included Makran Commissioner Dawood Khiliji, Gwadar DC Hamoodur Rehman, SSP Najeeb Paindran, and National Party leader Hussain Ashraf. Their participation in the talks underscores the government’s commitment to engaging with the Baloch people and addressing their concerns.
