Peshawar: PTI leader Shir Afzal Marwat has stated that both parties should exercise patience until the third round of negotiations.
Speaking to the media in Peshawar, Marwat emphasized that if the negotiation team is not being allowed to meet with Imran Khan, they should still remain seated and avoid getting angry over trivial matters or making inflammatory statements. “Both sides should act with patience until the third round of talks; statements will only spoil the atmosphere for negotiations,” he said.
Marwat further commented on the issue of written demands, noting that it was turned into a matter of ego. However, he highlighted that PTI founder Imran Khan had shown considerable flexibility, stating that there was no harm in submitting demands in writing as the entire nation knows that negotiations are ongoing.
Regarding the ongoing legal proceedings, Marwat said that they had become accustomed to verdicts from trial courts. “No matter what decision comes from the accountability court, it does not affect us; everyone knows the outcome of these cases.”
It is noteworthy that two rounds of negotiations have already taken place between the opposition and the government, during which the government committee requested that the opposition provide their demands in writing.
