Islamabad( The COW News Digital) Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has strongly criticized the Indian government for spreading disinformation regarding the recent Pahalgam incident in Indian-administered Kashmir. In an exclusive interview with Indian media, Bilawal stated that New Delhi misled its own citizens by falsely accusing Pakistan of being involved in the attack and failing to allow an impartial investigation into the incident.

Bilawal asserted that Pakistan does not allow any terrorist group to operate within or outside its borders. “We are ourselves victims of terrorism. Pakistan has fought one of the longest and most deadly wars against terrorism, sacrificing over 92,000 lives,” he said. “In just the past year, we faced over 2,000 attacks, resulting in more than 1,200 civilian deaths.”

He expressed empathy with victims of terrorism, including those affected by the Pahalgam attack, and emphasized Pakistan’s willingness to cooperate in international investigations. “We were ready to participate in any independent probe to clear our name, but India rejected that,” he added.

Highlighting the global history of extremist groups, Bilawal noted that some of the same groups now labeled as terrorists were once backed by global powers during the Cold War, especially in the context of the Afghan conflict. He clarified that his party, including late Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, had always opposed such policies.

Bilawal also pointed to Pakistan’s efforts under FATF (Financial Action Task Force) guidelines, claiming that action had been taken against multiple proscribed organizations. “We informed FATF about the steps we’ve taken. The international community has acknowledged our counterterrorism measures,” he said.

Regarding the 2008 Mumbai attacks, Bilawal urged India to join the legal process in Pakistani courts. “Present your witnesses. Without testimony, justice cannot be served. I want justice for the Mumbai victims just as you do,” he told the Indian host.

He concluded by calling for a cooperative relationship between India and Pakistan to ensure accountability and justice. “Let’s build an environment where the victims of both countries can find justice through truth, not through propaganda,” Bilawal stated.
