The 12th death anniversary of former Senior Provincial Minister and ANP leader Bashir Ahmad Bilour is being observed today. Bashir Ahmad Bilour was martyred in a suicide bombing in 2012.
Bashir Ahmad Bilour raised a strong voice against extremism during a time when terrorist activities were on the rise. Despite receiving numerous threats from terrorists and experiencing multiple suicide bombings, he bravely confronted terrorism.
On the night of December 22, 2012, Bashir Ahmad Bilour became the target of a suicide attack in Daki Nalbandi, which resulted in the martyrdom of his personal secretary Noor Babu and 9 others.
Even after twelve years, the sacrifices of the late Bashir Ahmad Bilour are remembered. His contributions for peace and his fight against terrorism are honored, and he is referred to as “Shaheed-e-Aman” (Martyr of Peace).
It is also worth noting that Bashir Ahmad Bilour’s son, Haroon Bilour, was martyred in a suicide attack during the 2013 election campaign.
