The prospects of Bangladesh’s national cricket team touring Pakistan have significantly improved following the ceasefire agreement between Pakistan and India. According to sources, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has given a green signal for the series, pending final security evaluations.

As per the proposed schedule, Bangladesh is expected to play a five-match T20I series against Pakistan from May 25 to June 3, with all matches slated to be held at Faisalabad’s Iqbal Stadium.

Before arriving in Pakistan, the Bangladesh team will face the UAE in two T20 matches on May 17 and 19 at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

Earlier, the BCB had stated that discussions were ongoing regarding the Pakistan tour and that player safety remained the board’s top priority. Any final decision, it emphasized, would be made in light of the evolving security situation in the region.

The BCB had initially delayed confirming the tour due to heightened border tensions and the postponement of major tournaments like the IPL and PSL. However, following the de-escalation between Pakistan and India, the board reconvened on Saturday at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium to reassess the conditions and exchanged views with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

A PCB spokesperson confirmed that communication is ongoing between both boards and that a formal announcement will be made in accordance with post-ceasefire developments.

According to preliminary plans, the Bangladesh team is expected to arrive in Pakistan on May 21.
