Former Pakistan captain and middle-order batter Babar Azam scored his first Test half-century in two years during the ongoing series against South Africa in Centurion.

On the third day of the first Test match, Babar Azam found form once again, scoring a half-century after a long wait of two years. In the second innings of the match, Babar was dismissed for 50 runs by Marco Jansen.

This marked Babar’s 10th Test half-century, and both he and his fans had to wait through 19 innings over the past two years for this milestone.

Babar’s last Test fifty was scored in December 2022, during which he also became the first Pakistani batter to score over 4,000 runs in all three formats of the game.
