Rawalpindi( The COW News Digital) In a significant development in regional defense cooperation, a high-level Azerbaijani defense delegation has expressed a strong desire to learn Pakistan Air Force’s (PAF) complete strategy on multi-domain warfare.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the delegation was led by Azerbaijan’s Deputy Minister of Defense and Director General of Defense, Aglag Gurbanov. During the visit to Air Headquarters in Islamabad, the team held in-depth discussions with Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force.
The meeting focused on a wide range of issues including training, modernization, technical expertise, and strengthening defense cooperation between the two countries. Both sides reiterated their commitment to expand military-to-military collaboration and highlighted the significance of joint initiatives in enhancing regional security.
Air Chief Marshal Sidhu briefed the visiting delegation on PAF’s ongoing modernization projects, operational structure, and long-term goals tailored to meet evolving warfare requirements. He assured full support in capacity building for Azerbaijan’s Air Force, particularly in training, operational readiness, and maintenance standards. The Air Chief also emphasized Pakistan’s willingness to share its experience in modern aerospace technologies and future-oriented operational strategies.
Acknowledging PAF’s exceptional professionalism, Azerbaijan’s delegation praised its achievements in aerospace advancements and operational capabilities. The visiting officials highlighted their interest in restructuring Azerbaijan’s training systems, stating that Pakistan’s experience would serve as a valuable model.
Deputy Minister Gurbanov expressed Azerbaijan’s keen desire to enhance military cooperation, especially through bilateral exercises and joint training activities. He underlined that such collaboration would not only improve interoperability but also strengthen mutual professional expertise. “Pakistan Air Force’s operational experience in multi-domain operations is a vital resource for Azerbaijan, and we seek to adopt its comprehensive strategy,” he said.
The delegation also reaffirmed Azerbaijan’s intention to realign its training infrastructure in close coordination with PAF, viewing the partnership as critical to its modernization and professional development.
ISPR noted that the visit reflects the shared resolve of both nations to deepen their strategic partnership. It also underpins the common objectives of peace, security, and stability across the region.
