Peshawar( The COW News Digital)Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Information Advisor, Barrister Dr. Saif, has stirred political circles by declaring that August 5 will prove to be a major surprise day for the federal government. In a strongly worded statement, Dr. Saif warned the ruling coalition that the momentum building across Pakistan, particularly under the leadership of Imran Khan, could shake the government’s foundations.
“Preparations for August 5 are in full swing under the direct instructions of Chairman Imran Khan. The energy on the ground is unprecedented, and the nerves of those in power are visibly trembling,” Barrister Saif said, adding that Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur is personally supervising arrangements across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The advisor emphasized that the PTI is mobilizing mass support not just in KP but across the entire country. “This will not be an ordinary protest—it’s a national wave of expression,” he noted, suggesting a major political showdown is imminent.
Referring to the government’s actions during the November 26 crackdown, Saif issued a stern warning: “If the authorities dare to repeat those oppressive tactics, they will face a strong, united, and unrelenting response from the people. This time, we are prepared.”
He further stressed that peaceful protest is a constitutional and democratic right that cannot be taken away by force. “We are committed to standing against every unconstitutional and unlawful move. Our resistance will remain within legal and political boundaries, but it will be fierce,” he added.
Barrister Saif did not elaborate on the nature of the “surprise,” but sources within PTI have hinted at large-scale nationwide rallies, public mobilizations, and potential disclosures aimed at challenging the federal government’s legitimacy.
With August 5 approaching, political observers are closely watching developments, especially amid rising tensions between the center and provinces like Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where PTI maintains a strong foothold. The coming days could see significant political developments, depending on how the government responds to the expected demonstrations.
The federal government has yet to issue a detailed response to Saif’s remarks, though security preparations in Islamabad and other major cities are reportedly being evaluated.
