Renowned Pakistani singer Atif Aslam recently made an unexpected revelation, sharing that he has not listened to music for several years.
In his popular blog, Welcome to My Borderless World, Atif reflected on his memories related to music and his evolving relationship with it. He recalled discovering his passion for singing during his childhood. One day, while singing on the upper floor of his empty house, he reached a high note for the first time and was both surprised and frightened by it.
He shared, “When I hit that note, I wondered, what just happened? I immediately closed the door and came downstairs.” However, this initial fear did not deter his passion, and he continued to quietly hone his singing skills.
Atif further explained that music had always been an integral part of his life, and he couldn’t imagine life without it. However, surprisingly, he refrained from listening to music for years. He has recently started listening to it again and is finding joy in the experience.
Atif also spoke about a new program he is working on, emphasizing that it will focus on collaboration and unity rather than competition. “It will be a platform where people will work together with love for music,” he said.
The program’s launch event in Lahore was attended by notable figures from the entertainment industry, including singers Sahir Ali Bagga, Bilal Saeed, actors Hamza Ali Abbasi, Saba Qamar, model Imad Irfani, and host Anoushey Ashraf. Filmmakers Bilal Lashari, Umera Ahmed, and singer Shae Gill also showed their support for the program.
