Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) parliamentarian Aseefa Bhutto Zardari has raised concerns about the ongoing gas crisis in Sindh during the National Assembly session on Wednesday. She questioned the government, “Gas is not coming to Sindh; how are people supposed to manage?” This is a pressing issue affecting the people of Sindh, who are struggling to cope with the shortage of gas.

In response, Petroleum Minister Musadik Malik explained the challenges, citing the depletion of gas reserves in the country and the high cost of imported gas. He stated, “We can’t supply gas if we don’t have it.” Malik added that buying expensive gas would put a burden on the national treasury, which is already under strain.

The gas crisis in Sindh is a result of years of neglect and mismanagement. The province, which is home to several gas fields, is facing a severe shortage of gas. This has affected not only households but also industries, which are struggling to operate due to the shortage.

Aseefa Bhutto Zardari’s concerns are valid, and the government needs to take immediate action to address the gas crisis in Sindh. The people of Sindh are suffering, and it is the responsibility of the government to ensure that they have access to basic necessities like gas.

The government needs to come up with a long-term plan to address the gas crisis. This includes increasing gas production, importing gas at a reasonable price, and ensuring that the distribution of gas is fair and transparent.
